There is no good strategy in Afghanistan. Whether you agree with President Obama's decisions regarding Afghanistan or not, there are several things you have to understand. First, complete withdrawal is not an option; second, someone is bound to be upset with his decision; third, he is throwing politics to the wind in order to properly protect the United States.

Let me make it perfectly clear, America cannot simply withdraw our troops from Afghanistan. Afghanistan and Iraq are not one in the same. Pulling out and allowing Afghanistan to fall into the hands of the Taliban will not only destabilize Afghanistan, it will destabilize the entire region. Taliban control in Afghanistan will inevitably lead to Taliban control in Pakistan.

For those who aren't in the know, the Taliban is currently in the process of destabilizing Pakistan-at least, that's their goal. If President Obama decides to withdraw from Afghanistan, he will be handing the Taliban the country on a silver platter. Upon their recapture of Afghanistan, they would simply head east into Pakistan.

The Pakistani government has not been able to keep a handle on small factious pockets Taliban militias; it would be infeasible for them to protect themselves from a Taliban with an entire government's infrastructure behind it. I'm sure you're wondering why Pakistan's fate is of any concern to Americans, and the answer lies in the impact of a Taliban-led Pakistani government.

There are three nuclear powers in the middle east. They are India, Israel, and Pakistan. I cannot speak for any American, but I can speak for facts. Fact 1: The Taliban provided Al Qaeda with a base of operations. Fact 2: I fear nuclear weapons. Fact 3: I fear the Taliban providing radical groups with nuclear weapons.

President Obama's Afghanistan policy is akin to a gun buy-back program in a violence-ridden community. Instead of waiting for a murder to be committed and hunting down the murderer, President Obama is attempting to stop the murderer from procuring the gun in the first place. Frankly, it seems to be the most logical thing to do.

Way to post a great article with a tainted reference to gun buy-back programs. How many criminals do you think actually turn in their prized "piece" at these events? How many guns come from a family or old granny looking for some spending cash? If you are a criminal, can you think of a stupider way to get rid of a gun than handing somethin to a cop that has your prints all over it? Get real. (Continued…)

Is that really your best response? Word? Try harder homie, I won't even dignify your argument with an intelligent response.
