Rugby on Top of Division

This past Saturday, Frostburg's Men's Rugby team traveled to American University. Frostburg started off with an early lead due to great action from the forwards.
Travis McMillen scored in the 16th minute. Two minutes later, Josh Albowicz crossed the line for another try. Both tries went unconverted. Due to some unfortunate plays, American was able to take the lead with the score of 21-10 at the end of the first half.
During halftime, the men rallied together and were able to regain their composure. As soon as the second half started, they came out swinging, scoring twice in the first ten minutes of the second half.
First try of the half went to Josh Albowicz, which was converted by Matt Cooper. Three minutes later, Matt Cooper crossed the line for the next try and they regained the lead 22-21.
Frostburg began to dominate the field, being able to get into the endzone during the 58th minute with a try by Shadeed Ziyout. The try was unconverted adding to Frostburg's lead 27-21. During the last ten minutes of the match, players off of the bench were able to add spark to the game as forwards.
The replacement players were able to score an additional three times. The first two tries were scored by Brock Brooks, both tries being converted. One try was converted by Josh Albowicz and the other by Jairo Molina. The final try went to rookie player Sam Flynn and was converted by Matt Cooper.
The final score of the match was 48-21 and places Frostburg on the top of the division. Frostburg's Men's Rugby team will return to action against Catholic University on October 3rd.
