Don't Let Your Snow Day Be Just Any Day

It is early in the semester and there has already been a snow day. What did fellow students do during their day off?
Although some people were expecting it, others, such as sophomore Chuck Osborne, were not. "I was hoping for it and I knew we were getting snow, but I didn't know how much," said Osborne.
Not expecting a snow day can leave many people with the problem of not knowing what to do on their day off. In Osborne's case, he simply "stayed in his room and chilled with people in his quad." Tony Avolio is a freshman in Frost Hall and his snow day was spent doing things along the same lines. According to Avolio, he "slept in, did a bit of homework, played video games with some other people from Frost, and watched TV."
However, some people, whether they knew there would be a snow day or not, were well prepared, or at least had an action-packed day. One female freshman took advantage of cancelled classes by, in her words, "sleeping in, going to a party around 2:30, and then partying for the rest of the afternoon."
RD Randi Kaltrider went snowboarding at Wisp, which is a great idea for anyone into winter sports including downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding, or tubing. Cate Ward, a member of Kappa Tau Epsilon, also did something she doesn't normally do during the week. Ward said, "on our snow day my sorority sisters and I drove to Olive Garden in Morgantown because the commercials looked amazing."
There are all types of things to do at Frostburg and whether they're relaxing or exciting, they're all fun. Everyone will be waiting for the next snow day with plans since they've experienced one already. One senior says, "I'm hoping and waiting for the next snow day because I don't want to do any school work. I'm going to go somewhere off-campus and do something exciting that I can't usually do during the week."
