It was not long after the next president was named that president-elect Barack Obama was in the news once again, but on an entirely different topic. Rather than just becoming the 44th president of the United States of America, Obama now has a few more questions to answer. So far the major questions in the news are what is Obama doing until he is inaugurated, what plans will he work upon first once in office, where does Barack Obama vacation at, what kind of dog should he get for his kids? All important questions indeed. However, the one question that actually matters is who Obama is considering to hire on for his presidential cabinet. Obama has stated though that he did not plan to make his cabinet choices immediately after becoming president-elect. Regardless, speculation has already been given and a few confirmed names have already been determined of who will take over which positions.

Obviously, one that is already named and has accepted the position is Obama's running mate and vice president, Joe Biden, the Delaware Senator that has kept that position since 1972. Aside from Joe Biden, a couple other names have been thrown around as possible people. Senator McCain for instance has even been talked about by the press as a possible person for Obama to ask onto his cabinet. However, the main reason for this speculation is that it's generally a token of good faith towards the losing party, in this case, the Republican Party. In addition to John McCain, a couple other big Republican names that are being speculated for Obama's cabinet are Coin Powell, the former Secretary of State, and Robert Gates, Defense Secretary. Though it's not certain yet, it is rumored that Obama would keep Robert Gate on as Defense Secretary for a year at least.

Outside of the former cabinet members from the Bush administration and the Republican party, Rahm Emanuel, member of the House of Representatives and representative of Illinois's 5th congressional district, has accepted Obama's offer to become his Chief of Staff. In addition to Rahm Emanuel, David Axelrod, top advisor and loyal friend that has helped Obama greatly during his campaign for senate in 2004 and onto Obama's presidential campaign, has accepted the position of Senior Advisor. Another likely candidate for position in Obama's cabinet is Pete Rouse, fellow senator and Obama's chief of staff while he served on the Senate staff, is rumored to become Deputy Chief of Staff. Many other names such as former presidential candidate John Kerry and New Mexico governor Bill Richardson are also rumored for possible positions, though no positions truly declared. There are even speculations of Hilary Clinton and Arnold Schwarzenegger as being possible candidates for positions. No one really knows right now mainly because the only information being sent out is from bloggers on the internet and trade magazines.

Again, the majority of these names are just rumors and speculation of likely candidates to serve on Obama's cabinet. When the time comes for Obama to actually declare his staff and his reasons why is when the American people can be more concerned. For now, Obama only needs to worry about keeping his word to his many promises and declarations for helping America become a better country. It'll start first with the promise of a dog to two faithful supporters, his daughters Maila and Sasha.

Obama BETTER NOT select Hillary Clinton for Sec. of State ESPECIALLY after the way she bashed him sooooooo badly as she competed for the presidential seat. (Continued…)

Finally, a rational, logical editorial. No one knows who Obama is going to pick until he picks them. There are lots of reasonable prospectes, but let's allow the President-elect to select his team. (Continued…)
