Bobcat Store Opens on Main Street

Have you ever been running from class to get to the bookstore, only to have the door slammed in you face (figuratively speaking, of course)?
Well, now you do not have to worry. Frostburg State University has opened a new store, suitably named, the Bobcat Store. Some of you may be thinking that the Bobcat Store is just another Frostburg Bookstore, but on Main Street. You are half-right.
The Bobcat Store is "a presence on Main Street to connect Frostburg State University to the community," according to Peggy Thomas, the newest member of the Bookstore Staff.
The Bobcat Store is located at 20 E. Main Street, where the Lyric Theatre Building used to reside and across the street from J.R.'s Custom Screen Printing & Embroidery and the General Art Store.
Upon first glance, it looks like a fancy version of the Bookstore. If you look a little harder, you will notice that there is one key difference between the Bookstore and the Bobcat Store. The Bobcat Store does not sell textbooks.
The store has the same prices as the bookstore, but offers more of a variety as far as clothing, mugs and such are concerned.
There even winter jackets, which will soon be helpful to those students who forgot their winter attire.
There is not a website for the Bobcat Store yet "but the plan is to have it connected to the Bookstore's page," Peggy Thomas stated. A huge selling point for students is that the Bobcat Store has different hours than the Bookstore.
The Bobcat Store is open on Mondays through Fridays from 10am to 6pm, on Saturdays 10am to 4pm, and on Sundays from 12pm to 4pm. This store is open for everyone from students and families to alumni and people in the local community. Now there is no worry about rushing to the bookstore after class.
Two things Peggy definitely wants students to know are: "The Bobcat Store is accepts Bobcat," and that "This store is a great place to do your Christmas shopping."
There will be a grand opening celebration in a couple weeks. Go visit, sign the guestbook, take a browse. You can never have too many clothes covered in paw prints!
