This past Wednesday, the championship game for intramurals 5 v 5 basketball was played. For both the recreational and competitive league the games were close and intense.
In the recreational game the two teams competing for the title were the "Wolfpack" and the "U". This game came down to the wire and the teams' ability to make free throws. Down by three with only 30 seconds left in the game, the "U" had many opportunities at the free throw line to tie the game or take the lead. Unfortunately, they didn't and "Wolfpack" ended the game as the champions.
For the competitive game "Twin Cities" and the "Old Guys" battled it out to see who was the better team. Even with a slow start, of a scoreless first 3 minutes, the teams still entertained the crowd with fancy passes, crossovers, and steals. Constant with its tough defense and size advantage the "Old Guys" still lost and the "Twin Cities" were the champions.
Congratulations to both teams, and also to Adrian Williams who was the 3 point contest champion!
