Larry Neumark Retires

Mix a teaspoon of faith, a dash of strength and a whole cup of heart you will come to find a person much like Reverend Larry Neumark. Larry Neumark has been an influential, significant part of Frostburg State University for the part twenty-nine years. As the time comes for Reverend Larry Neumark to go forward and depart from the university: the community, staff, faculty, and students are at a loss. Neumark however, can only think of this enormous part of his life, and reflect on all the positive experiences he has come across.

Over forty years ago Neumark completed his faithful journey at a seminary in Washington DC. After moving on into the world, Neumark found himself working at a ministry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. "I wasn't quite sure of my life's direction at that point. A friend of mine gave me the idea of working for a University and from that moment the light bulb went off, it felt like a calling," Neumark shared.

From the very second Neumark became a part of Frostburg State University and its community a sense of spiritual relief arose. Over the years that Neumark has been at Frostburg State University, his contributions are simply immeasurable. His dedication to the Campus Ministry and to serving the members of this university and the community have been represented through the hundred of programs hosted, the dozens of volunteer committees involved in, and his personal goal to provide others with someone that will listen.

As Neumark flipped through a notebook he held close to him, he shared some of the experiences, and the involvement he has had while at FSU. As the head of Frostburg State Universities Campus Ministry, Neumark has hosted several programs to interest and aware the people of this university and this town. Contemporary Issues have always been tough when you mix a large different group of people, yet Neumark has successfully held program and panels on evidently hard topics such as: War, interracial subjects, ethnicity, religion, and abortion.
