Student Gamers vs. FSU

Currently, some students have small gaming local area networks (LANs) setup within their dormitories. The problem is that students living in other dorms can't always connect to these LANs. The current setup is just not good for the students. With all the paranoia about viruses floating around we have seen this university spend thousands of dollars on things like Campus Manager, a tool that seems to be more of an annoyance than a solution.
As a gamer and a Frostburg State University student, I am angry with the university's unwillingness to support online PC gaming and I don't even live on campus! It is ridiculous to think that this small university sitting at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains, with a student enrollment of around 4,000 has more network restriction for gaming than most major universities around the country.
Change isn't going to happen overnight. The students of Frostburg State University have to voice their opinions and let the administration know! If you are a student frustrated by all the port blocking and network restrictions that keep you from enjoying the games you paid to play, then send out e-mails. Perhaps Dr. Gibralter will be more open-minded than his predecessor. Until then, keep those LANs going because it's going to be a long winter.
